"Embarrassing early
effort done in the throes of the Ann Rice vampire frenzy of the
early eighties (??? I'm terrible with dates). Done with a scant
number of pens that didn't really blend well together. At some
point, I'd like to revisit this idea and provide a more compelling
image with all of the curlicues and Victoriana befitting the
subject matter. Modern vampires in the age of blood-related
diseases is not a boner-inducing theme for me. Besides being as
old as the hills, this drawing also sustained considerable water
damage during Hurricane Andrew when I lived in Miami. I had
originally given this piece to a friend but discovered it back in
my possession a few years later so I assume he didn't want it any
longer. Had I known it was among my papers, I would've moved it to
safety along with my other artwork before the storm hit.
Nevertheless, it is a good representation of the genesis of my
craft."
